Mortgage Interest Rates Drop below 4%, lowest in 18 months.

The average interest rate for a 30 year conventional mortgage has dropped below 4% for the first time in the last year and a half.  Many buyers have heard stories of climbing interest rates for the last few years, but rates have slowly been dropping in 2019.  This, paired with the Fed’s promise to not raise rates in 2019 make for a good environment to buy your next home and lock in these historically low home mortgage rates.

If you’re looking to purchase new construction, most builders will require you to use their “preferred lender” in order to maximize incentives from the builder.  These lenders do still tend to be competitive on their rates, and sometimes you may have a few lenders to shop amongst.
